Sabi Varon
Managing Partner

Mr. Varon is the owner and manager of Highland Financial Capital Group, a private money lender and real estate equity firm.  Highland Financial has been in operation since 2002 and focuses on investments of asset based and time sensitive transactions of commercial properties.Â

Mr. Varon has been involved in real estate management, sales, financing and construction for the past 28 years.Â

Mr. Varon owned and operated Varon Properties, where he managed several hundred apartment units throughout Atlanta.  The company performed property management and engaged in new construction planning and development of various commercial projects.

Mr. Varon has also managed a portfolio of hotels and several high rise condominiums in Miami, Florida. At this position he worked directly with the acquisition, sale and financing of hundreds of residential and commercial units.

Mr. Varon currently manages a large portfolio of residential and commercial real estate, consisting of an array of properties such as self-standing buildings, a medical office complex, retail strip centers and professional space.

Mr. Varon’s latest achievement was publicly noted when he successfully assembled various tracks of land in the South Dekalb area and created Candler Point, a live/work complex comprised of 86,000 square feet of professional, retail office and restaurant space. Candler Point is a pioneer project of the revitalization model of the new overlay district of South Dekalb County in Decatur, Georgia.

Mr. Varon has lived in Atlanta for the past 30 years and has received several awards for his activity and commitment to various community and educational causes.

Mr. McGraw provides consultative assistance to clients interested in utilizing retirement vehicles to hold real estate investments. Mr. McGraw also raises capital for Highland Financial Group projects from Qualified Investors nationwide.

Prior to joining Highland Financial Group, Mr. McGraw was Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Irvine, California based SB Investments. In this role Mr. McGraw negotiated the purchase and sale of over $100 million in commercial real estate assets with an
emphasis on multi-family and student housing properties.

Prior to SB Investments, Mr. McGraw spent his career raising capital for commercial real estate projects nationwide as Business Development Manager for a private real estate company.

Joel Alvo Fund Manager

Joel Alvo serves as a Fund Manager for Highland Financial Capital Group, specializing in Private Equity Placements.

Prior to joining Highland Financial Capital Group, Alvo served as a sales associate for Sperry Van Ness assisting clients in the leasing, acquisition and disposition of investment property. Before entering the commercial sector, Alvo spent more than 15 years as a residential investor, gaining property management experience and learning how to contribute to a business’s growth and development by increasing occupancy and decreasing delinquency. He brings an extensive professional background having done business in banking  and as a project manager with clients from GE, Sodexho and The Home Depot. Alvo prides his success on being a strong leader that utilizes a highly technical and marketing-wise skill set. Using the latest technology and relationships, Alvo leverages his skills while working to find sites that best fit his Fund’s criteria.

As an active member of the industry, Alvo is a member of the Georgia Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Alvo earned a Bachelors Degree from Georgia State University in addition to graduating with honors from Gwinnett Tech’s School of Web Design. Most recently, Alvo has become a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) candidate.

During his career as a Real Estate agent he been involved in countless transactions from all angles, has played a major role with HFCG in the Purchasing, Selling, Contract writing/reviewing and Marketing of Commercial and Residential properties

Greg received in BA of Arts from the university of Texas and Undergraduate in Accounting from Georgia State University. Has been employed at HFCG for the past 3 years and has proven himself in a wide variety of tasks including Sales, Loan Management, Advertising and Bookkeeping.

Tzali has had extensive experience in Real Estate sales and Management working in New York as a licensed Real Estate agent for over 2 years as well as working in Florida for an investment group inspecting potential sites and properties. Tzali has worked for HFCG for 1 year Managing, Marketing, Renovating, Building and Selling both Commercial and Residential properties.

Tammy Anita Bryant, has over 20 years of administrative, sales management, marketing and leadership experience developed while working in government, small to mid-sized corporations along with the university sector. Tammy is currently acting as Sales/Marketing Manager for Candler Point Retail and Office Condominiums, a Highland Financial Capital Group project. Tammy has been instrumental in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies resulting in over $1.8 million in commercial real estate under contract. Tammy also assists in the negotiations and loan origination processes along with acting as the public relations liaison for Candler Point. Tammy demonstrates a passion for assisting small business owners and individuals in achieving their personal, financial and business goals, which she developed while working for almost 5 years as an administrative assistant for The Ayco Company, A Goldman Sachs Company). Recently, Tammy has worked as a sales person marketing various services and products. Tammy is currently a finance major at Georgia State University and ultimately plans to become a Certified Financial Planner to assist individuals and small business owners in wealth creation and development. Tammy is a successful single parent and is the Assistant Coordinator for Dorca’s Daughters a grass roots initiative that motivates and inspires teenage girls towards civic engagement and community service to the elderly, disabled and shut-ins.
